Orbital Fabrications is an engineering company offering a manufacturing and installation service to many high-tech industries and has built its reputation on 30 years of quality and service. The company is ISO9001 and CHAS accredited and is in the progress of gaining ISO14001 certification. The company has a small team already in place to deal with our day-to-day quality which it is looking to expand. As a Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products and processes. You will be responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in maintaining our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Conduct audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Document and report inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and tools.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
The ideal candidate for this position would possess the following skills and/or experience:
• Technical degree or certification in quality control or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quality Technician or in a similar role within the engineering or manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles, standards, and methodologies.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., callipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management systems.
- Salary: £25K to £35K
- Working hours will be 08.30 – 17.00 Monday – Thursday and 08.30 – 16.00 Friday with a 30-minute lunch break.
