Orbital Fabrications Ltd are market leaders in orbital welding, specialist TIG welding and assembly of gas and liquid handling systems using stainless steel and high nickel alloys, to a variety of clients within the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, process and scientific industries.

We are looking for a technically minded sales representative to cover the Southern region of the UK. This is a mid-level sales role taking responsibility for existing clients as well as developing new contacts and customers within the designated territory.  Ideally suited to someone with an engineering background such as mechanical, TIG welding, specialist pipework or a background working with specialist gases and liquids. Our customer base is very diverse, so engineering experience in any of our target markets would be considered.

Role

  • Responsible for sales activities within the Southern region of the UK and growing the market worth >£1.5M
  • Manage the existing customer base, as well as developing new opportunities
  • ‘Cold calling’ and following up on leads generated by the sales and marketing team
  • It’s expected that c. 25% of time out visiting customers in the designated territory
  • Attend trade shows and conferences in the UK when required (including those outside territory)
  • Managing and maintaining customer contacts, opportunities and forecasts through CRM
  • Engaging with other internal departments within Orbital Fabrications to generate customer proposals

Position

  • Reports directly to the Sales Manager

Requirements

  • Some engineering experience, preferably mechanical engineering or welding
  • Previous proven sales experience, or strong engineering background looking to move into sales
  • Technically minded, with a mechanical engineering background
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Confident in picking up the phone and cold calling a new prospective contact
  • Driving License (Clean)

Package

  • Office based at our facility in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire
  • Dependent on experience – £35~45k basic salary and car allowance
  • Company bonus, dependent on company and personal performance
