- Written Scheme of Examination
Safety is always paramount and underpins everything that Orbital Fabrications undertake. One aspect of site installations is HSE compliance and the PSSR.
The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR) covers the safe design and use of pressure systems. The aim of the PSSR is to prevent serious injury from the hazard of stored energy (pressure) as a result of the failure of a pressure system or one of its component parts.
If your pressure system operates at a pressure greater than 0.5 bar, you have a legal obligation to have a written scheme of examination (WSE) in place before the system is operated. The WSE is then used to inspect the installation on an annual basis to ensure continued safety and system integrity. The implementation of a WSE will almost certainly be a requirement for insurance compliance, and part of your site HSE process.
Our integrated approach delivers high performance manufacturing and
installation solutions for our clients
Written Scheme of Examination
As part of the installation process, Orbital Fabrications submits a comprehensive documentation package to the client. This can include weld maps, material certificates, operation manuals, layout schematics, P&IDs etc.
An optional addition that Orbital Fabrications can provide is the WSE documentation. We can also conduct inspections on an annual basis and update the WSE as and when changes occur, such as new gas lines, modification to existing gas lines, or amendments to safety equipment. Our team of Pressure Safe qualified engineers work with you to ensure your ongoing PSSR compliance.
We can also evaluate and provide WSE documentation and examinations for existing installations previously installed by third parties.
